A semi-professional volleyball player, successful professional, and Miss International 2020, Megan Vladic is a woman on a mission to break the mental health stigma worldwide through her platform Mind.Heart.Body.
Mind.Heart.Body. focuses on breaking the stigma associated with mental health and increasing the awareness on the importance of considering these factors in relation to heart health and your overall well being. Her passion for mental health awareness ignited after she was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder in 2018.
As a member of Mental Health America’s Youth Advisory Board, Megan is assisting youth board members in building and shaping their social media platforms, - created by teens for teens - to help those who may be struggling with mental health or know someone who is.
Megan was born and raised in Antioch, Illinois and was very active as a child. Megan began her volleyball career in highschool when a coach expressed interest in helping use her height as an advantage to dominating the sport. Thanks to this mentor and standing at 6’1” with innate determination and a hard-work ethic, Megan earned a full collegiate athletic scholarship to Lincoln Land Community College - she still holds 3 school records.
After receiving her Associate's degree, Megan received another full athletic scholarship to the University of Illinois - Springfield. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelors Degree in Communication. Megan is still very active in volleyball as a semi professional player for USA Volleyball, as well as a private, club and high school coach.
In early 2020, Megan completed her Project Management Certificate with Northwestern University and plans to utilize this new tool to help her achieve goals set to continue advancing in her career.
Megan enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and staying active. She’s always looking for her next adrenaline filled adventure. Up next, skydiving!
Megan is honored to be Miss International 2020 and is excited to navigate this challenging year during unprecedented times. She is actively working with Mental Health America and eager to partner with International Pageants national platform, Girls Inc! as a mentor.
